Terms and Conditions of Carriage
These terms apply from the moment Parcel From India accepts a shipment. Please read section 6 and section 7, which limit our liability and the time you have to claim.
What you are agreeing to
When ordering Parcel From India services you, the shipper, are agreeing on your own behalf and on behalf of anyone else with an interest in the shipment that these terms and conditions shall apply from the time that Parcel From India accepts the shipment, unless otherwise agreed in writing by an authorised officer of Parcel From India.
"Shipment" means all documents or parcels that travel under one waybill and which may be carried by any means that Parcel From India chooses, including air, road or any other carrier. A "waybill" shall include any label produced by Parcel From India automated systems, waybill, or consignment note, and shall incorporate these terms and conditions.
Value protection is not automatic. It may be arranged at an additional cost. See section 6 and section 8.

1. Customs, exports and imports
Parcel From India may perform any of the following activities on the shipper's behalf in order to provide its services: complete any document, amend a product or service code, and pay any duties or taxes required under applicable laws and regulations; act as the shipper's forwarding agent for customs and export control purposes, and as receiver solely for the purpose of designating a customs broker to perform customs clearance and entry; and redirect the shipment to the receiver's import broker or other address upon request by any person who Parcel From India believes in its reasonable opinion to be authorised.
2. Unacceptable shipments
The shipper agrees that its shipment is acceptable for transportation. A shipment is deemed unacceptable if:
- It is classified as hazardous material, dangerous goods, or prohibited or restricted articles by IATA (the International Air Transport Association), ICAO (the International Civil Aviation Organization), ADR (European Road Transport Regulation on dangerous goods), or any applicable government department or other relevant organisation.
- No customs declaration is made when required by applicable customs regulation.

- It contains any other item which Parcel From India decides cannot be carried safely or legally.
- Its packaging is defective or inadequate.
A full list of items we cannot carry is published at Prohibited and Restricted Items. Where concealment or prohibited items are found in a shipment, a penalty of twenty thousand rupees is levied and the shipment is not returned.
3. Deliveries and undeliverable shipments
Shipments cannot be delivered to PO boxes or postal codes alone. Shipments are delivered to the receiver's address given by the shipper, which in the case of mail service shall be deemed to be the first receiving postal service, but not necessarily to the named receiver personally. Shipments to an address with a central receiving area will be delivered to that area.
If a shipment is deemed to be unacceptable, or it has been undervalued for customs purposes, or the receiver cannot be reasonably identified or located, or the receiver refuses delivery or refuses to pay for delivery, Parcel From India shall use reasonable efforts to return the shipment to the shipper at the shipper's cost. Failing which, the shipment may be released, disposed of or sold by Parcel From India without incurring any liability whatsoever to the shipper or anyone else, with the proceeds applied against service charges and related administrative costs, and the balance of the proceeds of a sale returned to the shipper.
4. Inspection
Parcel From India has the right to open and inspect a shipment without notice.
5. Shipment charges
Parcel From India shipment charges are calculated according to the higher of actual or volumetric weight, and any shipment may be reweighed and re-measured by Parcel From India to confirm this calculation. Volumetric weight is calculated as length multiplied by width multiplied by height in centimetres, divided by 5000. A calculator is provided at Chargeable Weight.
The shipper shall pay or reimburse Parcel From India for all shipment charges, duties and taxes owed for services provided by Parcel From India, or incurred by Parcel From India on the shipper's or any third party's behalf, and all claims, damages, fines and expenses incurred if the shipment is deemed unacceptable for transport as described in section 2.
